Are Your Perceptions Blocking You From Seeing the Full Truth?

How to drop old views and build new ones.

--

Perceptions are powerful things that shape how we see the world. The downside is they aren’t always reliable. They are either built on a sturdy foundation of truth, or the unsteady ground of stories & illusions.

The worst part of this for me was not knowing which of my perceptions were honest and which were conveniently warped to satisfy my desires and attachments.

When I started questioning this, it triggered a sense of urgency and curiosity in me that lead to identifying and challenging my perceptions to see if I created them from truth or bias.

I discovered some interesting things in the process.

Choose your lens

There are two ways to percieve things that create our perceptions:

Mindless

This is where anything you experience is filtered through personal judgments, belief systems, and morals.

The product is often a conveniently narrow perception meant to feed the belief that created it.

Mindful
