How To Easily Stop Negative Self-Talk

Winning the battle against negative self-talk is possible, and it’s found in the ease of surrender.

The quote by Carl Jung, “What you resist, persists.”, fits perfectly here.

This is because when we resist negative thoughts, they don’t get processed.

They lie around in our subconscious, festering until it’s time for them to take center stage again.

When we try to ignore or fight negative self-talk, this is just us fighting ourselves, and that fight is endless.

The constant pushing and trying to force our mind into submission is a total energy drainer. Along with that, we can see our mood and outlook on life drop because of this constant struggle.

What we need to do is let the negative thoughts flow through us without reacting to them until they calm down and stop coming back.

Mindfulness Is The Bridge

If resistance causes all this pain, then acceptance would bring the healing. But a precondition to acceptance is self-awareness.

Resistance is reactionary, and it doesn’t require you to be mindful. Acceptance is a response that requires mindful attention, especially with negative self-talk.
