I came to the same conclusion a little while back. I figured that meditation is something you do on and off the cushion, and that formal meditation was more like a training ground where you can focus and intensify the transformative effects of it. And then continuing to meditate throughout the day meant maintaining awareness and acceptance of the present moment so you can continue to flow with whatever is going on and whatever your mind is thinking about what's going on.

Thanks for writing this! It brought back a bunch of great points I hadn't thought about in awhile. I'm very grateful.
