I just took your story and made Chatgpt write a comment for it and this is what it spit out:

Your story captures a common concern in today's digital age—identifying and responding to AI-generated content. I appreciate your transparency and the detail you provided. The comments do have a somewhat formulaic tone, which can feel impersonal and AI-like. However, your decision to block the commenter seems understandable given your desire for authentic interaction. It's a tricky balance, but your commitment to genuine engagement on Medium is commendable. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's a good reminder to all of us to seek meaningful connections online.

This comment feels as cold/stiff as the ones you came across. I don't think you did the wrong thing by blocking them. But it got me thinking how scary this could get.

For example, I could create an agent with Chatgpt, feed it everything I ever wrote, and then say "comment on this person's story with my voice, speaking in a way that sounds like me" and it would probably be pretty close to something I'd actually say.

Who knows how far we'll take this, but AI makes me a little nervous about the future of writing and connecting on sites like this.
