I saw this when I was helping to take care of my mom after her knee surgery. A few kernels of kindness go a long way, but I forget sometimes these doctors are people too, working under rules they didn't write. Overall I think the system is kind of busted and needs an overhaul so that kindness can have a chance to take root in those doctors right now that are probably too burned out. But that's just based on my limited experience.
