I think using the clap number as a unit of measurement for validating how much someone likes the writing is a bad move. I've done that and ended up obsessing over the meaning of low claps vs high claps. I didn't really enjoy how analyzing this was making me feel so I've been letting it go.

A clap is a clap no matter where it falls within the range of 1 - 50. It just means someone took a moment to read and then press a button showing their acknowledgement of the writing. Giving it extra meaning seems to create problems that weren't there before.
