It takes a lot of courage to be the love you needed from others. But self-love is the most potent form of it. I'm glad you found a way to express that to yourself because I know it sure isn't easy.

I'm sorry too that you grew up in the way you did. I can relate to some things. My depression went virtually unrecognized by my family. Denial was their default, and I understand why. They just didn't know how to handle it. They didn't love me any less, but they couldn't give me what I needed. It look a long time to figure out that in order to handle my depression I'm going to have to be the one to love me and help myself through it.

It's unfortunate that so many people deal with something similar, but I think bringing peace to our hearts is probably the most important thing we can do in this life, because then we can share that peace with others.

Anyway, thanks for this one! I always appreciate you sharing your experiences and awesome writing. It's inspiring.
