That's a great point that as a writer, it's good to consider that the reader is seeking a sense of belonging, because it's just natural. We all want that.

So writing things people may know, but makes them feel like they aren't alone, or offering a unique perspective is really important.

I see that now that I've been writing on Medium for a little bit. At first I was trying to say things no one has said before... which is impossible. But my attempts often lead me to getting no reads. When I started talking about things people already knew a bit about, the engagement went up.
