There's a dark astral tone to this that pulled me in quick. For some reason the feeling kind of reminds me of my sleep paralysis episodes. It's not a bad thing, but a deep thing.

The second stanza stands out to me though, it's incredible. "shadows wearing bark/clawing at a sunless sky" I mean.. Wow! The imagery and the emotions in this piece will linger the rest of the day, of which I'm quite happy to let it do just that.
