When a Slow Burn Is the Only Way To Melt the Candle of Deep Emotional Pain

Like me, I’m sure you have tried every move in the book to find relief from emotional pain. While some ways work great, there are others that obviously don’t.

  • We can’t shame the pain away, that just makes it more intense.
  • We can’t ignore it and hope it leaves. It just hangs around until triggered again.

Really, any kind of forcing or pushing invites the pain in us to become more irritated. The only way to find relief is to embrace it and offer it what it needed all along, some love.

Sometimes healing takes longer than expected

Nothing can melt away the stress of turmoil buried within us like self-love can. Even so, offering ourselves compassion can be a frustrating effort because sometimes the result isn’t immediate.

When I practice this with minor troubles, then sure, relief comes quick. It soothes the ache from little miseries like embarrassing moments and minor disappointments almost instantly.
