Wow! Incredible passage, and so very true for many of us, unfortunately.

…acophonical cries, clenching my eyes
as the doctor happily handed
me to my marvelous, morose mother
and although I’ll always love her
she inflicted potent pain
my delightful, dreadful daddy did the same
and although it was not their aim
earthly love, make, mold, and maim
