Your beautiful poem reminds me of a quote by Thich Nhat Hanh, "You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free."

But it does hurt for the one that did the letting go. And that's the wonderfully painful price for loving someone. I suppose after tears are shed we can feel grateful to be able to hurt in such a way, since there are many that have never loved anything or anyone enough to feel like this and experience love that deep. At least I suppose that's one way to look at it.
